Chrizaan Mostert

Artist Statement:

My name is Chrizaan Mostert and I am a novice ceramic artist. I am based in the far south of Namibia, in the small town called Rosh Pinah and I started my studio, Stofpad Pottery, in May 2021. I like all things art and crafts and have ventured into different fields over the years to satisfy my artistic curiosity.

In pottery, my focus is on hand-build items for the time being, making bespoke functional table and homeware that can also be decorative in any surrounding. I also use bisque drape moulds and stamps that I make myself and like finding everyday items to use for texture and shaping new items. My designs are inspired by my journey in pottery and an item will only be repeated for commissioned work. My style is colourful on challenging and weird concepts.

I am passionate about our beautiful Namibia and people and consider pottery to be a platform that provides more than just art.
