Artist Statement:
I create works under the name Xammi Namibia.
I express my creativity through working with clay, drawn to its natural flexibility to take on any shape. This affinity leads me to sculpt forms that hold deep significance for me, such as the womb and the feminine figure. Each piece is meticulously hand-built, crafted coil by coil, offering a homage to both myself and the collective essence of womanhood, embracing the roles of women as nurturers, mothers, sisters, and daughters of our planet.
Drawing further inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes of my birthplace, Namibia, I seek to capture the remarkable diversity of its terrain in my creations. Textures, geological features, and the interplay of different clay types all find expression in my work, paying tribute to the land's awe-inspiring beauty.
